Bakkhali, another fast-growing beach resort in the South 24 Parganas is just three kilometers from Frazerganj and so you can easily enjoy your time there at the afternoon. Take a van from Frazerganj and you will be at Bakkhali within 15 minutes. The view of sunset that Bakkhali offers is simply breathtaking and that’s why it remains more crowded in the afternoon tan in the morning.
If you are an adventure lover then you can opt for a boat ride over the dancing sea waves to jambudeep, an island, which is inhabited by local fishermen. You can also make a short trip to the crocodile breeding center at Bakkhali, the Sagarkanya or the Henry’s Island that houses a huge tower from where one can get a panoramic view of the Sundarbans and the Bay of Bengal.
There are quite a few hotels of different standards in Frazerganj where you can stay. Otherwise you may also opt for staying in Bakkhali, because it offers better accommodation facility. Availability of foods is not a problem in Frazerganj, especially for those who love fishes. Local sea fishes are supplied to the hotels and restaurants in bulk quantity. One can reach Frazerganj from Kolkata by both roadway and railway but the journey but the earlier is much more exciting especially for the moment when the vehicles are taken into a ferry to cross the Hatania-Doania river. It takes about five hours to reach Frazerganj from Kolkata and the WBSTC buses depart from Esplanade at 7 in the morning. Besides, one may take any train heading towards Diamond Harbour or Namkhana from Sealdah section. However, as you have to change vehicles several times, the journey may seem to be hectic.
